413.约翰提及三种不同的谎言,有何背景?】

    约翰在本书信第一章及第二章曾提及谎言”“自欺以神为说谎这三种有关谎言的事如下

    一、若说与神相交,却仍在黑暗中行,就是说谎话的。(一章6

    二、若说自己无罪,便是自欺。(8

    三、若说自己没有犯过罪,便是以神为说谎的。(10

    四、若说我认识他,却不遵守他的诫命,便是说谎话的。(二章4

    五、谁是说谎话的呢?不是不认耶稣为基督的么?(22

    六、人若说,我爱神,却恨他的弟兄,就是说谎话的。(四章20

    这六次有关谎言的事,可分为三类

    口说信神,行为却犯罪的人,乃是说谎话的

    口说信耶稣,但又否认他为基督,也是说谎话的

    口说爱神,却恨他弟兄,也是说谎话的

    约翰所题这些说谎话的人,完全是针对上述那些制造异端的所谓知识派。他们比耶稣时代的法利赛人更厉害。法利赛人是公开与耶稣作对的,敌我分清,容易使信耶稣的人清楚分辨法利赛人的罪行。但知识派乃是渗透在当时的教会中,甚难使人分辨。约翰在这里所用我们若说人若说等语气,很可能就是这些假冒为善的知识派所常用的句子

    知识派中有人主张纵欲,以为肉体不过是灵魂外面的包裹,所以肉体犯罪,并不影响灵魂的圣洁。但约翰在本书信中斥责这些说谎话的。本书信第二、第三章便是约翰针对这种肉体犯罪并不影响灵魂圣洁的谬论。

Born of God

What is the evidence that we are born of God? We have the question answered in John’s first Epistle. Seven times we find the words ‘Born of God’ occurring.

I. Righteousness of life. ‘Every one that doeth righteousness is born of Him’ (2.29)

II. Not practicing sin. ‘Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin’ (3.9)

III. New nature implanted. ‘He cannot sin, because he is born of God’ (3.9)

IV. Loving one another. ‘Every one that loveth is born of God’ (4.7)

V. Faith in Christ. ‘Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ, is born of God’ (5.1)
